Review of No Escape (2015) by Alvin Y — 10 Sep 2015
I want to say about this movie No Escape as a pulse pounding thriller but not superbly crafted as it supposed to be. The major big problem of the movie is its marketing, and the film's cast and crew for not mentioning to the audiences where in the world are they or why is there a reason do we feel and care about this crisis that is going on in this place.
The movie's opening scene wants us to know that something is about to happen but then it's already happened. Another weakness of the film is its limited amount of location and Hollywood actors appeared, it's just too indie for me, and definitely not a typical film to see with friends.
But I do enjoy even a bit those suspense and tensions that are so unpredictable that you might not know there's someone there to kill you or maybe not. Think about those other decent survival movies or films about a family or group of friends who are trying to survive a disaster, they feel epic in scope.
I'm not saying it's bad or terrible, it's just a complete miss and a mess as well. No wonder it never got a big attention to the people.
