Review of No Escape (2015) by Nathan F — 08 Oct 2015
The surprise movie of the summer. An American family is in the middle of a third world revolution. Director Dowdle creates the feel of a country in flux! Great character development for Owen Wilson's family resonates empathy for the movie's characters.
The Bronson character creates a narrative for what is happening. The blending of the Wilson and Bronson characters creates a storyline, and theme. One feels the angst and violence of a bloody coup where Westerners and anyone associated with the government is purged.
Bronson's advice about fighting for survival, and tells Wilson just keep moving is a testament of the human instinct to survive, and the brutality of humanity. I give No Escape 3 stars.
