Review of No Escape (2015) by Zach S — 25 Feb 2017
I figured out why this movie has such poor ratings. There are two kinds of people who won't like this movie:
1- People who live in a perfect little bubble (ironically like the wife Lake Bell) who cover their eyes and ears when controversy or violence is at the forefront of their attention span.
2- People who find it overly necessary to be 200% politically correct, yet somehow hold grudges towards anyone who is not completely outraged by any and all racial tension throughout human history.
Unfortunately, looks like most of the critics fall into one of those 2 categories.
This movie was an extremely intense, raw, action packed, nail biting film from beginning to nearly the end. The last 30 or so minutes were pretty tamed compared to the 1st hour... Decent plot, kinda predictable but Owen did pretty good as a serious lead role.
I really enjoyed the film. Definitely worth the watch if you don't have your panties in a bunch.
