Review of No Escape (2015) by Grant H — 03 Sep 2017
Very good movie. Though there's not much story or character development, this is still an intense, action-packed thrill ride that is moving, shocking and delivers plenty of B-movie entertainment fondly reminiscent of classic escape pictures including Escape from New York and Assault on Precinct 13, supported by great performances from its cast, especially the rare and powerful Wilson dramatic role.
One of the highest marks for this film is the impressive production design, visual effects and direction that went in to making this film, for despite being made on a $5 million budget, this had all of the large practical effects (gunshots, explosions, crashed helicopters) and stylish direction of a big-budget action film and doesn't show its discount budget at all.
