Review of Nil by Mouth (1997) by Trevor H — 19 Aug 2008
Excellent, powerful and raw film of lives in a semi-dysfunctional family in London. I say semi- because this is so close to how it really is for many in the UK. Kathy Burke is outstanding in her role, drawing on all our emotions.
As a friend of a woman who has been in an abusive relationship, the final scene is the most horrifying of all. A brilliant Oldman debut - remember that he both wrote and directed it.
