Giulietta Masina is my favorite actress of all time and this is by far my favorite female role. I haven't seen all of Fellini's work but I feel confident that nothing will surpass this film. I love how this and La strada abandon most of Fellini's stylistic touches in 8 1/2 and Amarcord for the sake of simply documenting Masina.
By just watching her, he lets the audience fall in love with her too. It's such a beautiful story and an all around great film.
