Review of Nights of Cabiria (1957) by Paul Z — 16 Mar 2012
Masina is hilarious, beautiful, full of character and crushingly sympathetic, through a striking range of emotions. What makes the character so moving is that beneath her spitfire veneer of street smarts is an innocent, frightened babe in the woods.
Her last defense against a cruel world is our compassion and hope for her.
