Review of Nights of Cabiria (1957) by Brian I — 24 Apr 2010
One of Fellini's early masterpieces. Giuletta Masina portrays a vulnerable, ornery, sweet prostitute on the streets of Rome. Cabiria (Masina) has been repeatedly hurt by men, but never loses her faith in love.
The movie is uncompromising and intimate, a great example of two amazingly talented artists (and a husband and wife duo) working together to make great film.
