Review of Night on Earth (1991) by Séamus M — 23 Sep 2007
A Tom Waits soundtrack, a great script that takes place all in one night in NY, Paris, Rome, Helsinki, L.A... A young Winona plays a butch taxi driver, Roberto Benigni kills a priest by telling him he'd been with a sheep...stellar.
My favorite instant is in Paris, when the taxi driver checks out his blind passenger in his mirror...first shot of the mirror she's looking completely unaware, and in the next brief shot she's looking straight at him. Dark Jarmuscian humor...I love it!
