Review of Night of the Living Dead (1968) by Lewis C — 29 Dec 2011
One of the most important and cornerstone movies of its genre, 'Night of the Living Dead' is the first real deal zombie movie. Full of political and even racial undertones, this is Romero's best by far.
Its low budget and shaky camera work enhance the uneasiness of the film. While it has spawned several shoddy sequels, remakes and a billion imitators, hardly any can even come close to measuring up to the original.
