The grandaddy of flesh eating zombie movies. This movie is a classic even if it has fallen into public domain. It's probably the best public domain movie out there & a landmark in the horror annals.
Sure the genre has been done to death since & there are bloodier & more extreme zombie movies out there (even by Romero himself) but none match the style of this glorious black & white or w/ so much meat on its bone to chew.
I have loved this movie since I saw it some 25 years ago & rank it in the top 6 horror movies of all time. The end credits are absolutely brilliant.
