Review of Never Say Never Again (1983) by Steve K — 13 Dec 2007
This unofficial Bond film is a remake of Thunderball, a film that didn't need to be remade as it was fine. The plot is obviously similar and the changes from the original only make the film worse. The casting all around is worse than Thuderball, especially Connery as Bond.
Connery at his physical best was average in terms of action but add to it that he's in his fifties and the sequences just don't look pretty. The music is bad and the way the whole movie is shot isn't very good either.
Pass on this film. Though unofficial, this would rank as the second worst Bond film ever behind Die Another Day.
