Review of Never Let Me Go (2010) by T W — 10 Oct 2012
Some movies can't help but be depressing because they tackle truly terrible topics: movies about genocide or sex trafficking, for instance. But this dystopic film wallows in the misery of a problem that is its own creation.
Sure, there are parallels to be drawn, but in the context, the message that true love can never trump man's inhumanity to man seems unnessarily bleak and the characters are far too subdued to provide even a sense of catharsis.
