Review of Never Let Me Go (2010) by Elizabeth N — 12 Sep 2018
I'm so disappointed in this movie. The screenplay should have been written by a woman. this movie leaves out the very toxic and quite common relationship between the two main female characters. Another disappointment is that the main character is depicted as virginal, and true to this one man, and therefore (for men) as a relatable protagonist.
In the book, she's exploring sex like a normal human. The book was so good at illustrating the nuances of toxic female friendships; aspects of which, for the most part, men are oblivious. This is why we need more women making films.
