Review of Network (1976) by Paul W — 26 Jul 2011
Lumet's directing style is so naturalistic and close to life that it makes almost every movie genuine, honest and seemingly real. Combined with a relevant story it's obvious why Network is so heavily praised.
About everything in Network is at least decent, the all-star cast, the script and the dialogue and the directing, though tedious and filled with lenghty speeches.
What stays after more than three decades is the certainty how morality and society declined over the years. The Howard Beale Show was a sensation, an upset in the 70s today it'd be merely a side note in a vicious world.
