Review of Network (1976) by Daniel W — 22 Feb 2018
One of the best pictures ever about the media business and perhaps one of the best regarding human behavior, this pic still resonates so many years later. How what was discussed in the film is both on the air currently and is still met with the contempt by those presenting it and love for those watching it.
A cinematic milestone is Howard Beale screaming "I'm Mad As Hell" and watching Faye Dunaway pitch the Beale Show idea is like watching mastery in motion. The acting is all top-notch & riveting, production values are wonderful (the bongo opening of the 'news' is ringtone worthy) and the writing is some of the best ever in cinema.
