Review of Network (1976) by Andrew D — 10 Jul 2014
Brilliant concept, ahead of its time. The script is intelligent, dark, satire that pulls no punches. The performances are outstanding, particularly from Faye Dunaway, Peter Finch, Beatrice Straight, and William Holden (Robert Duvall not so much).
The relationship between Dunaway and Holden is compelling, complex, and affecting. A bit too over-the-top to be believable though, even if it got the basics right.
