Review of Network (1976) by Chantelle A — 03 May 2011
The fact that the Network of 1976 is even more relevant today is eerily uncanny, and that's why it's one of the most profoundly prophetic works of the 20th century. Certainly the acting, directing and writing are all impeccable, especially the cast, but it's the truth and skewering of ideas at its center that makes it so funny, scary and insightful.
What it says about news consumption, media and entertainment, not to mention the personal angle it also addresses, makes Network one dangerously powerful film.
