Review of Network (1976) by Mike S — 11 Aug 2009
"I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore!!" A quote which I feel like screaming out from time to time is a quote from what is regarded as one of the best films from the 70's.
It's definitely a good film. It's just not a great one in my opinion. Pretty much everything is outstanding; The acting, the script (for the most part), and the casting. What's so amazing about this film are its performances.
There is not one weak performance found here, not even mediocre, they are great across the board. Let me point out a couple flaws which play in to my rating. The love affair is something I found rather boring and dull and made the film drag here and there.
Also, replay value. I don't find myself sitting down and watching this one over and over throughout the years. It is an outstanding first time watch. If you start to get bored, just hang in there, because the conclusion will leave you with a stunned, I should have known that was going to happen feel.
This is something that I can definitely see happening, if it already hasn't.
