Review of Network (1976) by Kevin D — 17 Dec 2010
Network is one of the greatest movies ever made. The script is one the best ever written. The dialogue and monologues are groundbreaking and well written. The ideas and themes in the movie give the viewer a lot to think about and are probably more relevant now than they were before. The movie takes you behind the scenes of the highs and lows of a television show and shows the related creative process behind television shows.
Peter Finch's final performance as Howard Beale is in my opinion one of the greatest screen performances of all time. He becomes the character and he says things that others are too scared to say. Finally, the ending is shcoking, unexpected, and powerful.
