Review of Network (1976) by Paul S — 06 Jan 2015
For what this is, I really liked it. The story is still relevant to the world today. The movie has moments of cheese in the middle of true greatness. There were moments in the dialogue that I thought were as profound as Shakespeare.
I felt the ending was somewhat preposterous and predictable, but nonetheless, I liked this. It's not the kind of five stars that will have me coming back like the Godfather. Faye Dunaway was gorgeous in this.
Robert Duvall was very good and believable. This was worth my time, maybe someday at some point I could sit through it again. Lots of movies from the 70s bore me to death, but this one has some depth.
Dare I call it historic for its era? I think so. Watch it!
