Pretty decent. The acting swung between excellent and dreadful. The teachers were all excellent (not just saying that cause I'm Facebook friend with one of 'em). The auntie character seemed rubbish to me and I wasn't convinced by Mullan's oh-so-hack drunken da'.
The main lad was pretty good though I've no idea what the moral of the whole story is by the end. Is there redemption? Is there not? I don't have a clue. Not convinced 'wegie dialect would've backwards evolved to the extent it has now back in the early seventies.
Though I may be wrong.
