Review of Neds (2007) by Tom P — 04 Jun 2011
Neds are the chavs of bonny Scotland. Except they're poorer and harder. Fuelled on Buckies they'd think nothing of sticking a blade in you for a dole cheque. In this film we see them indulge in a lot of swearing, fighting and dialogue not so thickly accented since Trainspotting as we chronicle our anti-hero John's descent into the underclass he once feared as a bright student.
Aggression within John grows as he seeks acceptance by his gang, but it soon spills over into other aspects of his life and into his imagination. Should you watch Neds? Would you go on holiday to Glasgow?? Doesn't contain deep-fried Scottish boobs.
