Review of The Circle (2017) by Tom P — 21 May 2017
With an interesting plot and intriguing premise, I was very excited to see this film. Then again, I love almost any film with Tom Hanks in it. Though the technology and graphics are cool, and the film offers a provocative, yet implied, cautionary tale of what can happen when technology is allowed to control your entire life, I felt the ending was disappointing.
It just ended. And I felt that there was so much more possibility for this film to address the main conflict in a major and far more climactic ending than it actually offered. So it was interesting, even exciting at times, but in the end, it fell flat.
Tom delivered a solid and believable portrayal of the anyagonist, whi h I found refreshing for this proverbial ''nice guy''. Yet, the film, in the end, let us down. If you are a diehard Hanks fan like me, go rent ''Big'' again and enjoy your night.
This one is worth waiting for ''on demand''.
