Review of Ned Kelly (2003) by Tibor B — 14 Feb 2008
Dull Australian western, in which a group of Irish lads are forced into outlaw status by the corrupt English police force. Unfortunately the gang, especially Ledger's Kelly, are a bland, uncharismatic bunch, and the film is further let down by a rather poor script and bland visuals.
Both Geoffrey Rush and Naomi Watts are criminally underused, as a lightweight police nemesis and a plot device love interest. Not bad, just boring.
