Review of Near Dark (1987) by Keith C — 29 Jun 2010
An early look at the vampire genre. This one is set in the 80's and has some interesting takes on the lives of these vampires. The are able to survive if they have tin foil and duct tape for their car windows.
Interesting to see Paxton in this early role for him. Violent but not gruesome. The "bar" scene will stay with me for a while I am sure. It pales in comparison to some of today's vampire movies and TV shows however, it was a good film.
RENT IT! I am a bit interested in seeing the 2009 remake now.
