(1) For the genre, just right. Critics perhaps don't understand the genre it joins? (2) My ten-year-old S enjoyed it very much, and she has masons in the family (historically), so she doubly enjoyed it.
And (3) I love everything Nicolas Cage does, though nothing really compares to Season of the Witch, which is the high point.
