Review of National Lampoon's Loaded Weapon 1 (1993) by Brad W — 07 Jul 2009
Ah, classic spoof humour at its best! When his partner is murderered, Samuel L. Jackson is teamed up with loose cannon Emilio Estevez and, together, they attempt to track down the murderer, leading them to a conspiracy involving cookies.
Mainly sending up the Lethal Weapon series, this film also parodies Die Hard, Basic Instinct and Silence Of The Lambs. Loaded Weapon was made at a time before spoof movies got old, stale and berift of any plot, characterisation, humour and fell back on simple toilet humour and loosely connected events (Epic Movie, for example, and the later Scary Moives) and, as a result, is actually funny, even after all these years, standing up with other great spoof movies such as Hot Shots and Airplane.
Awesome stuff, and great to quote from.
