Review of Nashville (1975) by Bryan E — 15 Oct 2009
Robert Altman's breakthrough film. Not the one that made him most famous, but the one that laid the pattern for his best work.
A mosaic of America captured on the cusp of a centennial celebration and never ending political season. One where perhaps you never even see the candidate, yet hear all too much what he believes. Great performances by Lilly Tomlin, Keith Carridine and a host of others make it a must see, even if just to say you've seen it.
