Review of Mystic River (2003) by Jack G — 18 Aug 2011
This feels ridiculous but I'm putting down my rating half a star just because of the last ten minutes. It had a seemingly perfect ending, but the last few scenes felt tacked on, were drawn-out and amounted to nothing.
Otherwise it was brilliant, the meaning drawn from the events is interesting but not too contrived, and the characters felt real. Penn and Robbins were both fantastic and deserved the oscars.
