Review of Mystery Train (1989) by Maria P — 28 Aug 2007
First saw this about ten years ago and it was well worth a second viewing. Three very different sets of people, including a pair of Japanese Elvis fans, spend a night at a fleapit hotel in Memphis where the night clerk is Screamin' Jay Hawkins and the bellboy is Spike Lee's younger brother.
They do not meet. Early in the morning, there is a gunshot. Then they all go their separate ways. And, er, that's it. If you like Jarmusch, you'll love this. Even if you don't, you should still like it!
