Review of Mystery Train (1989) by Zbyn?K S — 21 Jun 2011
Mystery Train is full of style and wanders around much like its title foreshadows. Jim Jarmusch pulls off the 3 stories in succession pretty well, I find it impossible to not relate his film to the films of Wong Kar Wai during the same time period which sadly are on a much higher level than Mystery Train.
The most interesting part about Mystery Train is that it's style is completely inherent on what characters the film is following. A great reason for such a minimalist style. Good fun.
