I enjoyed Jodi Picoult's book, but hated the film version. I've never understood why Hollywood screenwriters and directors insist on creating film versions of books that hardly resemble the original when they're done bastardizing them.
As a comparison, BBC and indie productions do a better job with much smaller budgets. Forget this film and read the book instead!
