Basically, I'm in 2 different places on this. On one hand, this is an interesting story, with some great acting, and a lot of sentimental tearjerker moments. I cried way too much to admit haha. On the other hand, the direction is cheesy, full of way too many fade to blacks, melodramatic voice over monologues, and almost none of the courtroom drama you expect from the description.

In fact, the bulk of this movie is looking at the family and their struggle. Which, don't get me wrong, was still compelling and heartbreaking all at the same time. And, like I mentioned earlier, the acting is fantastic.

Cameron Diaz, Abigail Breslin, and Sofia Vassilieva especially. But essentially, the whole movie was different flashbacks to times in the family's history, and back to the current situation, which, not going to lie, with all of the jumping, the timeline of it all got really confusing.

However, on top of all the fails, I found myself crying, especially at the end. So basically, if you can ignore the melodramatic directing, and focus on the family, and want to cry your eyes out, then you should watch this movie.
