Review of My Old Lady (2014) by Chris M — 10 Nov 2014
The casting is spot on and there are some quality stand-alone scenes, but the shift in tone from comedic in the beginning to bordering morbid as the plot progresses gives the film a rather disjointed feel. The editing is rather odd, in that the family secrets are foreshadowed far too quickly for them to have any deep impact once revealed.
Furthermore, Paris as a backdrop is completely underused to the point where this film could have taken place anywhere given the minimal exterior shots utilized throughout.
