Review of My Old Lady (2014) by Qi Z — 12 Aug 2015
How do children grow and live under the shadow of their parents' own unhappiness, even if the unhappiness is in the name of "true love"? When the victims are bounded by their social obligations (such as being a parent), do their suffering count in the altar of "true love"?
This is a melancholy contemplation of the damages and pollutions carried through previous generation's actions. The three major actors all performed with sincerity and skill. There is no villain, just human frailty and blindness of our own desire and consequences.
