Awful. To see how a film like this is done properly, watch 'Galaxy Quest,' which managed a lovable send-up of the prototypical hackneyed sci-fi show and its adoring fans without being, well...this movie.
I like Bruce Campbell as much as the next guy (which is to say, quite a lot) but he should not be in full command of the creative reins on a project. That's not his thing. This film took the larger-than-life 2D Bruce Campbell we all know and love and robbed him of one more dimension in its strained attempts at zaniness.
Demerit.
