Review of My Name Is Bruce (2007) by Alex R — 08 Jun 2012
Very good horror comedy starring Bruce Campbell as himself, My Name is Bruce is a fun film from start to finish. Though it could have been better, this is nonetheless a must see for fans of Bruce Campbell.
This film is a parody of the actor's career, and he does it beautifully. This is a very well done horror comedy, and is one of the best films that Campbell has done in many years. The fact that the film parodies his films adds to the enjoyment of the film.
This is not something to take seriously whatsoever. This is pure B movie fare and it definitely will appeal to fans of low-budget films. For what it is, this is an enjoyable film that is a bit underrated.
The film does leave room for improvement. Even for its flaws, My Name Is Bruce is a fun ride that is a must see for B movie horror fans. Although the script is uneven, the film has enough good moments to make this a watchable film.
I found that the film was pretty funny, and that Bruce Campbell did a good job. I agree that the film could have been better, but for what it is, it's nonetheless a good little comedy horror flick that not meant to be taken seriously.
I don't understand why this film has been received so poorly. I felt it was a pleasant time waster, one that certainly was comical and fun despite its flaws. This is a film worth watching, and if you love Bruce Campbell, it definitely isn't something fans should skip out on.
This not a film that deserves all the flack it has received, and is much better than what most people have said about it. But with every film, it could have been reworked slightly to make it really a memorable film, but as a whole, it's a mindless comedy horror flick worth checking out.
