Review of My Man Godfrey (1936) by Steve S — 29 Oct 2008
This real life divorced husband and wife couple that is Dick Powell and Carole Lombard have no problems getting along in this hilarious tale of a "forgotten Man" and a couple of snobby rich socialite sisters.
one snobby sister, and the other dizzy and lovestruck. Eugene Pallette who portrays the father of the socialites, Mr Bullock, seems to be the only one in the family with any sanity. and Dick Powell is brilliant as lead charector "Godfrey" no matter how old this movie gets it'll always be hilarious.
if you like straight comedy, then you'll love this. straight comedy means where they don't have to swear or makes sexual references every 2 minutes, because these actors and actresses had ACTUAL talent.
