Review of My Fair Lady (1964) by Kelly H — 12 Apr 2011
13.4.2011.
Perhaps the greatest musical ever made. The cast is great, Audrey Hepburn radiating all her star-power, wonderfulness and acting at its top. Visually, the film is stunning: the essences captured, The film is not only wonderful entertainment but also an intelligent commentary on class-system and how one is trapped by the accent and dialect, and also a wise film about becoming your most positive self. It's also a romantic comedy, among the best of them, a witty and grown-up version of them, detached from romantic illusions, one where the couple doesn't even kiss. A masterpiece.
