Review of My Fair Lady (1964) by Ben M — 03 Jan 2013
The most intelligent musical ever made, if not because those who wrote it found inspiration for their songs in the wonderfully witty dialogue of the original play, "Pygmalion". This is a brilliant example of how best to adapt a play into a musical, by remaining mostly faithful to the original source and finsing ways to bring out the music that was inherent to it all along, if that makes sense.
