Review of My Darling Clementine (1946) by Private U — 12 Jun 2007
Ah, this is a great film, and perhaps one of the best Westerns ever made. Extremely low-key (especially for John Ford), with solid work from Fonda and Brennan (surprisingly effective as a villain). Earp fans might be upset by the casting of pudgy, brutish Victor Mature as Doc Holliday, and the entirely fictional account of the O.
K. Corral Gunfight. A great companion piece would be 'Tombstone'.
