Review of My Darling Clementine (1946) by Rocknblues 8 — 01 Feb 2010
The gunfight at the OK Coral has become arguably the most famous gunfight in history because it symbolizes the lack of Law and Order in the Western Frontier. Many movies have portrayed this event but "My Darling Clementine" takes a deeper examination on the characters and how they may have felt, even if the plot has been tweeked a little.
Victor Mature's Doc Holliday portrays a man who doesn't know if he should be the surgeon he once was - he was actually a dentist - or the lonely wild gunfighter he is now. Henry Fonda is Wyatt Earp, a straightforward portrayal of a man with a goal of revenging his brother.
The acting leads the way in this John Ford Classic.
