Review of My Bloody Valentine (2009) by Ryan K — 24 Apr 2010
Jason, is that you?
Estimated Budget: $15m.
Gross: $51.5m.
Why wouldn't any studio green-light terrible, cheap & unimaginative horror movie scripts when audiences are quite prepared to gobble up this complete dross? I saw this without the 3D spex on but could easily tell where the effect was placed throughout the film - what a stupid novelty. As for the acting, you'd find better from unknown species of deep-sea fish (exception - Tom FOOKIN' Atkins!). The production values scraped the absolute bottom of the barrel. The script should be buried in the deepest darkest Welsh coal-mine we can find. What is the point of the horror genre any more when all it does is regurgitate remakes, self-reference the genre and spew forth old novelty ideas!?
