My Beautiful Laundrette is a movie with great characters and a bad script. I kept thinking, what a shame that these wonderful characters were so well developed but the story was not. The whole thing just never came together.

Loose ends abound through-out the script that lets down the most interesting cast of characters. The actors gave wonderful performances - but the story-line was all over the place and the ending leaves you feeling as though you left in the middle of the film.

I faultered between giving this 2 or 3 stars - but opted for 3 only because the characters were so good - they make it worth sitting out this movie. C.
