Review of Mutiny on the Bounty (1935) by Phil W — 15 Dec 2007
This movie is a historically inaccurate, romanticized depiction of the actual mutiny on the Bounty. The film barely takes into consideration that Fletcher Christian may wind up being worse than Bligh himself when being in command (see the history of Pitcairn Island), or that the mutineers standing trial in England would say whatever necessary to get themselves off the hook.
The highlight of this film is Charles Laughton's amazing performance as Captain Bligh.
