Review of The Devil-Ship Pirates (1964) by Allan C — 29 Oct 2016
I had not idea that Hammer Film Productions made a pirate film and this one is a pretty good one. Christopher Lee plays a mean pirate who terrorized the British coast, but some plucky locals take on the evil one-eyed Lee with thrilling and violent results.
As you'd' except with Hammer, this film is not an old fashioned swashbuckler, but they add in their usual helpings of sex and violence that set this film apart form it's contemporaries of the time.
Overall, it's not a classic, but it's pretty entertaining.
