Review of Mutiny on the Bounty (1935) by Jeff Z — 06 Feb 2009
Solid acting and innovative effects make this a memorable best picture winner. Although it is a fictionalized account of the famous Bounty voyage and mutiny; it is still considered to be the best representation of the events.
One funny thing about the film is to see Clark Gable without his iconic moustache (he shaved it for the part). The DVD has a very interesting feature called Pitcairn Island Today; however, it was documentary footage shot by MGM in 1935 while making this film.
This film borders on a 'must-see' if it isn't one already.
