Despite a great idea, Mute Witness is a horribly dated thriller full of 90s music and nasty knitwear. The concept of a mute make-up artist witnessing the making of a snuff movie and being pursued through murky Moscow by the demented film-makers ought to be nailbiting stuff.
But shoddy acting, garish lighting and zero suspense serve to ruin everything. Remake please!
