Review of Mute Witness (1995) by ~Nikki~ ~ — 10 Nov 2006

This is a great movie! Despite the story following "The Spiral Staircase" footsteps, it still has it's own story. Quite simple, Young Mute girl working for film crew, gets locked in, watches someone gets killed on screen-(or should I say witnesses a snuff movie being filmed) and then runs. The opening 30 minutes truly sent chills down my spine, after that opening, it becomes a rather mundane thriller full of predictable twists, but still, the magnificent directing by Anthony Waller makes up for that. There are a couple of scenes which might test your stomach, but still it focuses a lot more on suspense rather than gore.-(which in this particular case, was good).

Extremely under-rated movie, do yourself a favour and borrow this movie... NOW!
